	Hi, As a volunteer of the BOINC Online Help, I've been contacted by a user who has found triplet signal with a power rating of 9.48 and one more powerful with a strength of 11.31 and a period of 2.00054. He sent me screenshots that show these signals green. What interpretation can be given to these signals atypical ? For those who would like more detailed information, I'm at your disposal. 	the green lines are just an indicator of where the program thinks a potential signal is. It will also do this for pulses and spikes. As far as the numbers, they are meaningless. the results are noted in the database and compared with other signals from that area in the sky. in the future it's probably best for the individual to make these inquiries themselves. 	I'm not a banned user, in fact, just the opposite. I'm a new user and very new to all of this. I simply thought what I was seeing was something special, and searched for a volunteer on the Seti@home volunteer contact list to ask about this.That's all. Who am I supposed to ask about such things? I know now that it was nothing special. Is there a way for me or other users to know if we get something special? I know it has to be confirmed by at least 2 users, then Seti, but is there anything to tell us that we may have something special? Forgive me if this sounds ignorant, but I am new to this. 	I don't want to discourage your level of enthusiasm or participation, but technically speaking, we're just doing an analysis of signals and sending the results back to the lab which then get assimilated into the Master Science Database. One signal from a specific point in space can be considered an anomaly or a fluke. We need repeated signals from the same point in space to suggest a sort of intelligence. In the event that a signal has been confirmed, all users whose computers contributed to the finding will be notified by the project and you will be given the chance for an honorable mention in the discovery (of course, after it has been peer-reviewed by other SETI scientists). Watching each workunit and wondering if it is significant is a little like taking a drop of water from the ocean and asking if it is significant. Each piece alone has its own attributes, but as a whole it may not mean anything until it has been thoroughly analyzed. That's why I wouldn't recommend recording or watching every result you find, as without an idea of scope, you'll be completely lost and wasting time.

Thank you, Christopher Sorry about that but the request was made in such a manner that it looked like a banned user, using a 3rd party, to ask his questions. BTW that banned user is a nuisance and has created multiple account to circumvent his ban. As far as asking questions here, ask away. No need to ask a 3rd party to post. As a suggestion though please try to search the forums for answers first. You'd be surprised how often a question has been answered. ____________ Proud member of TSWB.
