I've been noticing lately that some of my GPU work units have a decently high CPU time associated with them. I'd like to get that time down, as my GPUs (2x GTX 570) can obviously crunch much faster than my CPU.
Is there any way to set a processor affinity in BOINC to use 75% of my CPU cores, and then leave the final core to be free to control the GPU work units? The computer I'm asking about is http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/show_host_detail.php?hostid=6735861
It's a bit of a wonky question, I know. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

If you only want to do this on that host then my suggestion would to do this in boinc.
Under the tools menu select "computing preferences"
Then at the bottom look for "On multiprocessor systems, use at most __ % of the processors" and change the field to 75.
You can also do this under your SETI@home preferences
