I have been running driver 301.42 on my NVIDIA GeForce 8400GS probably since its release. When the update to driver 306.23 for this card was announced I upgraded. With this driver it will not run the 2 video cards (GPUs) that I have installed at the same time.

I had been looking at the rather strange info I was getting regarding what was running on the card/s as I have, since running the optimizer and finding that I should be running 3 (0.33) which I recently changed to. I finally realized today that only one card was working. It is possible that the second card was working but only running one copy at one time. (I seem to remember seeing 4 running earlier).

After a roll-back of the driver all is again working as it should.

Boinc 7.0.28 to Boinc 7.0.36 have a Nvidia GPU memory reporting Bug, on some hosts it was the Total GPU Memory that was wrong, on some hosts it was the Available GPU Memory that was wrong,
it probably was also more likely to show up in Cuda 5 drivers, if the Total GPU Memory is different between GPUs, then only the most capable is used, unless you do a cc_config.xml with <use_all_gpus> enabled,
all the fixes are likely to be in Boinc 7.0.37 when its released.

Both cards have identical memory (although it reports different speeds). I will wait for a upgraded BOINC before I try the new drivers again as all seems to be running just fine now.

What really caught my attention was the fact that all my CUDA tasks seemed to be running High Priority.

Just noticed that my lowly GeForce 210's on another computer were down to only one showing. I rolled back the driver on that one and now I have 2 again.....

And what did the Boinc startup messages report for those GPUs?

(It'll still be in stdoutdae.txt, no need to re-load the driver just to tell us that)

to fix your problem do that:

1. exit BOINC
2. go to ProgramData\Boinc directory
3. find cc_config file and edited it
4. find at the end line use_all_gpus>0</use_all_gpus> and change it to use_all_gpus>1</use_all_gpus>
5. save it

cheers

I do not know what it reported with the new driver. It now reports the correct number of cards.
