Quite a simple one - you are running Windows 7, 64bit, while trying to run the x86 (32 bit) application. Download the 64 bit application and it should be much happier. Bob Smith Member of Seti PIPPS (Pluto is a Planet Protest Society) Somewhere in the (un)known Universe? |

The file that keeps failing is seti_609.jpg. Copy that file from another machine if you have it, or try turning off compression in your preferences page. Under "Network Usage" see "Skip image file verification" and make sure it is set to Yes (off). |

Actually, that doesn't matter. 64bit bit Windows will quite happily run 32bit BOINC (as long as it's installed in C:\Program Files (x86)\BOINC\ or anyplace other than C:\Program Files\BOINC\), better even is that 32bit BOINC will quite happily run both 32bit and 64bit applications. The only difference between 32bit and 64bit BOINC is that the 64bit version can address more memory. But other than that... |

Strange. I expected much the same, when I built this cruncher I initially loaded the 32bit S@H app, and it failed with errors, since I was watching I spotted this and loaded the 64bit version and away it went. (Yes, I KNOW windows 7 64bit version is supposed to run 332 bit programs, but every now and then it has an iffy fit and throws one out even if it has run it without problems previously) Bob Smith Member of Seti PIPPS (Pluto is a Planet Protest Society) Somewhere in the (un)known Universe? |

Quick question: I am running S@H on a Win7 (64) machine with 16megs of memory, lotsa disk and a GPU. I am also running Rosetta at the same time. I have noticed that the download for Rosetta is 10 to 100 times faster (12 to 15 Mbps) than Setti download (2 to 30 Kbps). It suspends sometimes for over an hour. Is the Seti server that busy?!! Just wondering, the job gets done and uploaded/downloaded eventually. Thanks |

Yes, the Seti server is that busy and overloaded. Can Windows 7 (64) even run in 16megs of RAM? ;-) |
