Upgraded to new version yesterday and have no problems. Did notice that the driver only crashed once since then, so maybe that problem has been corrected. 301.42 was always blinking out on me, but it didn't affect any processing. http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/show_host_detail.php?hostid=5501972 I don't buy computers, I build them!! |

I need 290 for Einstein@home so I am not upgrading. |

I need 290 for Einstein@home so I am not upgrading. Why do you need 290 for Einstein? Mine is running just fine on 306.23, as you can see. We had a conversation a few days ago about a Quadro FX 1800 running slow with the newer drivers, but with your computers hidden at both sites I can't tell if that 'old hardware' problem applies to you too. |

Any performance reports? Dunno whether anyone's doing any benchtesting these days - just Claggy, I think. I'm still at the "phew, it works - and doesn't break Rom's memory size detection fix for BOINC v7.0.36, thank goodness" stage. That slow Quadro is at round about the 9600GS level, so that doesn't tell you anything about the performance of modern Fermis and Keplers. |

Any performance reports? I must admit......with work and all, I have lagged on any benchies I used to do. Rely mostly on the reports I get from the outlying regions. Claggy is doing most of that for us. I one was the one who did much of that. Meowkiss, Claggy. "Freedom is just Chaos, with better lighting." Alan Dean Foster |

I need 290 for Einstein@home so I am not upgrading. I will try the 306. I remember I had trouble with 3xx driver before, that is why I downgraded to 290. SETI ran fine with the 3xx driver. |

I need 290 for Einstein@home so I am not upgrading. Depends on your card type. If it's pre-Fermi, it's quite probably not worth upgrading, too early to tell. I looked, but I don't think you posted at Einstein about problems. |

Using Freds Seti performance program it should be easy to test the new drivers. |

The people forgot my benchmark tests which I made in past .. ? *confused* For you interested .. My last test which was with 301.42 WHQL .. On my system (Intel Core2 Duo E7600, GTX260 O/C, WinXP 32bit) still 275.33 is the best/fastest driver. I don't know if it's worth to test 306.23 on this old hardware .. * Best regards! :-) * Sutaru Tsureku, team seti.international founder. * Optimize your PC for higher RAC. * SETI@home needs your help. * |

Using Freds Seti performance program it should be easy to test the new drivers. On my gtx560 there's no difference worth talking about 301.42 Results: Device: 0, device count: 2, average time / count: 304, average time on device: 152 Seconds (2 Minutes, 32 Seconds) Results: Device: 0, device count: 3, average time / count: 446, average time on device: 148 Seconds (2 Minutes, 28 Seconds) --- 306.23 Results: Device: 0, device count: 2, average time / count: 305, average time on device: 152 Seconds (2 Minutes, 32 Seconds) Results: Device: 0, device count: 3, average time / count: 447, average time on device: 149 Seconds (2 Minutes, 29 Seconds) |

I don't know if it's worth to test 306.23 on this old hardware .. Probably not, my tests on my 9800GTX+ showed a large slowdown on Cuda 5 drivers for legacy (pre-Fermi) GPUs: x41z Cuda32, Cuda41 and Cuda42 v6 Bench on the 9800GTX+ (Win Vista x64, 301.42 (Cuda42 drivers)): WU : PG0009.wu setiathome_6.03_windows_intelx86.exe -verb : Elapsed 529.981 secs CPU 532.587 secs Lunatics_x41z_win32_cuda32.exe -verb -nog : Elapsed 335.452 secs, speedup: 36.70% ratio: 1.58x CPU 8.923 secs, speedup: 98.32% ratio: 59.69x Lunatics_x41z_win32_cuda41.exe -verb -nog : Elapsed 332.427 secs, speedup: 37.28% ratio: 1.59x CPU 8.408 secs, speedup: 98.42% ratio: 63.34x Lunatics_x41z_win32_cuda42.exe -verb -nog : Elapsed 332.899 secs, speedup: 37.19% ratio: 1.59x CPU 8.190 secs, speedup: 98.46% ratio: 65.03x WU : PG0395.wu setiathome_6.03_windows_intelx86.exe -verb : Elapsed 566.564 secs CPU 575.566 secs Lunatics_x41z_win32_cuda32.exe -verb -nog : Elapsed 63.213 secs, speedup: 88.84% ratio: 8.96x CPU 9.781 secs, speedup: 98.30% ratio: 58.85x Lunatics_x41z_win32_cuda41.exe -verb -nog : Elapsed 66.359 secs, speedup: 88.29% ratio: 8.54x CPU 8.954 secs, speedup: 98.44% ratio: 64.28x Lunatics_x41z_win32_cuda42.exe -verb -nog : Elapsed 66.369 secs, speedup: 88.29% ratio: 8.54x CPU 8.377 secs, speedup: 98.54% ratio: 68.71x WU : PG0444.wu setiathome_6.03_windows_intelx86.exe -verb : Elapsed 486.205 secs CPU 494.164 secs Lunatics_x41z_win32_cuda32.exe -verb -nog : Elapsed 55.309 secs, speedup: 88.62% ratio: 8.79x CPU 9.719 secs, speedup: 98.03% ratio: 50.85x Lunatics_x41z_win32_cuda41.exe -verb -nog : Elapsed 58.290 secs, speedup: 88.01% ratio: 8.34x CPU 8.299 secs, speedup: 98.32% ratio: 59.55x Lunatics_x41z_win32_cuda42.exe -verb -nog : Elapsed 58.266 secs, speedup: 88.02% ratio: 8.34x CPU 8.549 secs, speedup: 98.27% ratio: 57.80x WU : PG1327.wu setiathome_6.03_windows_intelx86.exe -verb : Elapsed 271.874 secs CPU 272.846 secs Lunatics_x41z_win32_cuda32.exe -verb -nog : Elapsed 34.870 secs, speedup: 87.17% ratio: 7.80x CPU 8.908 secs, speedup: 96.74% ratio: 30.63x Lunatics_x41z_win32_cuda41.exe -verb -nog : Elapsed 34.253 secs, speedup: 87.40% ratio: 7.94x CPU 8.268 secs, speedup: 96.97% ratio: 33.00x Lunatics_x41z_win32_cuda42.exe -verb -nog : Elapsed 34.351 secs, speedup: 87.37% ratio: 7.91x CPU 8.658 secs, speedup: 96.83% ratio: 31.51x 9800GTX+ on 306.23 drivers: WU : PG0009.wu setiathome_6.03_windows_intelx86.exe -verb : Elapsed 529.981 secs CPU 532.587 secs Lunatics_x41z_win32_cuda32.exe -verb -nog : Elapsed 346.910 secs, speedup: 34.54% ratio: 1.53x CPU 9.750 secs, speedup: 98.17% ratio: 54.62x Lunatics_x41z_win32_cuda41.exe -verb -nog : Elapsed 343.920 secs, speedup: 35.11% ratio: 1.54x CPU 8.861 secs, speedup: 98.34% ratio: 60.10x Lunatics_x41z_win32_cuda42.exe -verb -nog : Elapsed 342.913 secs, speedup: 35.30% ratio: 1.55x CPU 9.079 secs, speedup: 98.30% ratio: 58.66x WU : PG0395.wu setiathome_6.03_windows_intelx86.exe -verb : Elapsed 566.564 secs CPU 575.566 secs Lunatics_x41z_win32_cuda32.exe -verb -nog : Elapsed 73.200 secs, speedup: 87.08% ratio: 7.74x CPU 10.655 secs, speedup: 98.15% ratio: 54.02x Lunatics_x41z_win32_cuda41.exe -verb -nog : Elapsed 74.323 secs, speedup: 86.88% ratio: 7.62x CPU 9.266 secs, speedup: 98.39% ratio: 62.12x Lunatics_x41z_win32_cuda42.exe -verb -nog : Elapsed 74.225 secs, speedup: 86.90% ratio: 7.63x CPU 9.781 secs, speedup: 98.30% ratio: 58.85x WU : PG0444.wu setiathome_6.03_windows_intelx86.exe -verb : Elapsed 486.205 secs CPU 494.164 secs Lunatics_x41z_win32_cuda32.exe -verb -nog : Elapsed 64.693 secs, speedup: 86.69% ratio: 7.52x CPU 9.859 secs, speedup: 98.00% ratio: 50.12x Lunatics_x41z_win32_cuda41.exe -verb -nog : Elapsed 65.651 secs, speedup: 86.50% ratio: 7.41x CPU 8.845 secs, speedup: 98.21% ratio: 55.87x Lunatics_x41z_win32_cuda42.exe -verb -nog : Elapsed 65.762 secs, speedup: 86.47% ratio: 7.39x CPU 8.798 secs, speedup: 98.22% ratio: 56.17x WU : PG1327.wu setiathome_6.03_windows_intelx86.exe -verb : Elapsed 271.874 secs CPU 272.846 secs Lunatics_x41z_win32_cuda32.exe -verb -nog : Elapsed 49.712 secs, speedup: 81.72% ratio: 5.47x CPU 9.500 secs, speedup: 96.52% ratio: 28.72x Lunatics_x41z_win32_cuda41.exe -verb -nog : Elapsed 47.098 secs, speedup: 82.68% ratio: 5.77x CPU 8.689 secs, speedup: 96.82% ratio: 31.40x Lunatics_x41z_win32_cuda42.exe -verb -nog : Elapsed 47.021 secs, speedup: 82.70% ratio: 5.78x CPU 8.440 secs, speedup: 96.91% ratio: 32.33x Claggy |
