I am just a bit disappointed that whilst I was at work today and could not be here to post, nobody else posted a 9/11 memorial thread.

We, at Pierce Manufacturing, surely remembered.

They had a simply huge American flag suspended between the outstretched arms of a couple of aerial ladder trucks waving fiercely in the strong breeze today on the display berm right alongside highway 41 in front of our plant.

And there were several hand written expressions of thoughts hung on the lockers of a few folks who are or were professional firefighters who all knew had lost fellow friends in the line of duty.

I know it's painful to remember, but......9/11........Never forget.

Julie mentioned it over in Rocky's Mark. No one will forget.

Thank you, Chris.
Glad to hear that.

I am sure you understand that, working in the industry I do, it hits some of us a bit harder than others.

We serve those people that they might serve others.
And there is a lot of pride in that.

One TV Channel here showed 3 9/11 documentaries back to back. I watched them all.

The scenes still have the power to shock.

We never can forget.

2,996.....

Not to count those who's lives were likely shortened by breathing in the toxic dust and fumes during the rescue attempts.

Just missed the ceremony at the Visalia Police/Fire Dept - first one I've missed in 5 years. Overslept (No excuse). We did hold a moment of silence at the start of Bingo last night - and specifically remembered Lcdr Otis Tolbert, a local boy who died at the Pentagon.

During the day, CNBC was doing a lot of interviews with people in the financial industry who survived the attacks on the Trade Center.

And it was tough watching the videos from that day. Almost as hard as watching videos of Challenger.....

God rest their souls, every one......

I was watching some of the replays of that day. I just couldnt watch any more. I still remember and its just as painfull to watch now as it was then.

My Grandmother who was 93 at the time told me it felt to her just like Pearl Harbor again.

We had a brief ceremony of rememberance at the Scout meeting last night. All of the Scouts in attendance could not have remembered the actual event as the oldest of them is 10.

Very good, John.
It is appropriate that they should learn, even if they don't 'remember'.
I was not alive when the attack on Pearl Harbor happened either. But I certainly remember the event now, and it's effect on our lives and world events since.
