The threads need to be organised in such a way that they are attractive to use by the posters, can be easily moderated, and manageable by the Admins. Not an easy thing to do. Although I do feel at times that high handed decisions are taken without consultation, and then feedback is ignored.

But we have to remember that Seti is primarily here to do science, not provide a social networking site. You can use Facebook or Twitter for that. Perhaps we should be grateful for what we have.

Its not all black and white IMHO.
The cafe is no science board and facebook isn`t pretty safe.

No problem with a word game for example.
It doesn`t really matter when a new thread is beeing started.
You dont want to look far behind.
On a thread like this its much different.
Lots of pics and information beeing shared need to be found again maybe.
So its much easier with less threads.

That's true. So many homeless people in the world. It's even worse in the States because the welfare doesn't work the same way as here. Over here, anyone without an income receives money from the state, they're entitled to that. When you live alone, you receive about 780 euros a month, and when you have children, around 1000 euros.

I wish SSI would give Me $1,010.64(780 euros) a month, as that would be somewhat better than the $854.40 that I get now.

I think they get a lot to do nothing! And then they call it a subsistence minimum...

I'm unable to work for a living, I can only say that My body is not able to do what it used to do, some say well can't You do anything, like sedentary work? Sure I can go on the net, most work requires standing, But who pays someone to do that? No one... Sitting all the time here can at times put My left leg to sleep cause of a lack of blood flow, some need to walk a mile in My shoes before passing judgement and saying I get too much, just cause I'm not working doesn't mean it costs a lot less to live, only costs in gasoline go down, that's all, nothing else. Plus what about repairs or replacement of stuff like clothes? 2 jeans, 2 shirts and 8 pairs socks for Me would cost $303.91...

So since I don't work and mentally and physically can not, I can barely do house work and then I take lots of breaks, If I sat on You Julie You would not be able to move much, if at all, that's how heavy I am...

Not to nit-pick too much but Oct 31st is all hallow's eve. All hallows day (aka all saints day) is Nov 1st.

In some cultures it is traditional to gather in graveyards on that day to commune with dead ancestors.

It is close to or lines up with many cultures.. All Saints day, All Hallowed eve, Day of the dead..

Supposedly commemorates the day of the year when the veil between this world and the nether world is the thinest. The festivals have people dressing in costume to confuse the spirits and offer some protections, Jack-O-Lanterns carved into faces and light with candles to ward off darkness, young children
in costume going from door to door with their taunts of "Trick or treat", origins being either give them goodies or they would perform some mischief "trick" upon your dwelling..

Happy Halloween

Hi Friends. I will begin a new Critter Cafe, per Ulibelle's request.
