Cat and dog critters do adopt/rescue/help you in life, Vic. As you are finding out.
It's good to be back amongst friends and colleagues

So are you picking up the cookies or is Ang shipping them?

I am shipping the cookies. I have been graciously granted a reprieve of a couple of weeks, given my crazy work schedule and my even more crazy upcoming weekend schedules. October is my "busy season"... <insert witch cackle here>. I hope to have the cookies in the mail within a couple of weeks. Eric and I even more fervently hope to win this now annual bet next year!!!

I trust Mr Scarecrow that you will be suitably 'umble in your temporary status as winner, and, are as we speak, saving diligently for your gift next year?

Oh Chris, have you learned nothing from your daily dealings with my countrymen and from your travels within our realm?!!!!! Eric and I were not in the least bit "suitably 'umble" last year. Obnoxious victory dances are an American specialty, my friend, and an expected part of the game!!!

You Brits are far too kind, generous and polite... and don't even get me started on those freakishly friendly Canadians to the north of us!!!!!

Well, I will diligently save room for some more cookies.

Hello friends of the cafe and beyond. I will be taking a break for a few days. (Technically I've been pretty scarce for a couple months already).

We are in the process of moving and the internet will not be on at the new place until Monday. So in a few hours my internet and home network is going offline. I'll catch all of you in a few days, or from my phone if time allows.

Take 'er easy folks, see y'all soon.

I wonder if the streak is going to continue and the team wearing the Blue and Gold will win this Saturday? :) It has been a while since the visitors have trounced the home team. Then there is that national ranking hanging out. But the smell of upset is in the air. Care to prognosticate, Bears or Bruins?

My heart says Bears, but sadly my mind says Bruins. Eric will be in the stadium cheering for those Sturdy Golden Bears. I suspect some form of "drowning of sorrows" will occur after the game.

Still... GO BEARS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I suspect so, but I believe it was 1998 the last time the Bruins won at Cal. Hope the game comes down to the last couple of minutes and not a blow out.

Perhaps. I was in southern Spain one time when a big soccer game ended in the favorite local team winning. The fans went nuts!!!!! I'd never seen such public displays of enthusiasm. I've never seen anything even remotely like that here, but then again I may just not be in the right places at the right times. Fans are fans, I suppose.

In our home we are actually much bigger college football fans than professional football fans, although Eric will watch the Packers play when he can.
