Hello dear Seti TEAM

For several days I get no more of you work units allocated. The last were CUDA FERMI and then suddenly stopped the allocation.

According server but work units to send. Strange as I said is a unit of work CUDA CL100 Astropulse was not what appears in Boinc. (see picture)

This is now calculated allegedly was never downloaded with me or appeared in boinc.

Greetings from Chris

Hallo liebes Seti TEAM

I'm switching to English, because I'm no CUDA expert and you'll need feedback from one of those.

If you are going to install anyway, try using version 7.0.31 from download all, because there seems to be a bug in the client that prevents the abortion of the openCL task from being reported back to the server.

As for the missing openCL support, I think you'll need to install additional software on your host. But you'll have to wait for someone else to give further detail or look at the number crunching subforum for existing threads on that topic.

Gruß,
Gundolf

Ok, thank you anyway so that they wanted to help me, unfortunately, also brought an upgrade to version 7.0.31 no changes.

It seems clearly to be due to CUDA for the reason I will continue with the theme now here

The missing OpenCL support is a problem with the Nvidia drivers. BOINC is not able to detect the correct file (OpenCL.dll) in among the driver components that were installed with the Nvidia driver. Best fully uninstall the present drivers and reinstall them, or try an earlier or later driver.

Unfortunately, driver installations have brought nothing, it seems in this project to no longer work.

I ask to excuse the double posting, this was not intended, I did not know exactly where I should write in it now.

Try BOINC 7.0.33 and those drivers.

BOINC 7.0.33 32bit version
BOINC 7.0.33 64bit version

And really, it's got nothing to do with the project.
BOINC will detect whether or not your videocard is CUDA (Nvidia), CAL (AMD) and OpenCL (both Nvidia and AMD) capable, and it does this by trying to find certain files on your system, files that should've been installed by the videocard driver.

In the case of the missing OpenCL module, it's very well possible that the driver installs OpenCL.dll to another directory that BOINC cannot access, or that Nvidia in their infinite wisdom have decided to rename the file, both cases make sure BOINC won't be able to detect whether or not your GPU is OpenCL capable.

You can also try to do a search within your C:\Windows directory, for OpenCL.dll
It should be available in C:\Windows\system32\ and possibly in C:\Windows\sysWOW64\

If it isn't available, try doing a search for OpenCL*.dll
And post back what your outcome is.

I know on my system with 306.02 it does recognize OpenCL with both 7.0.28 and 7.0.33.

BOINC 7.0.33 32bit version
BOINC 7.0.33 64bit version

BOINC will detect whether or not your videocard is CUDA (Nvidia), CAL (AMD) and OpenCL (both Nvidia and AMD) capable, and it does this by trying to find certain files on your system, files that should've been installed by the videocard driver.

In the case of the missing OpenCL module, it's very well possible that the driver installs OpenCL.dll to another directory that BOINC cannot access, or that Nvidia in their infinite wisdom have decided to rename the file, both cases make sure BOINC won't be able to detect whether or not your GPU is OpenCL capable.

It should be available in C:\Windows\system32\ and possibly in C:\Windows\sysWOW64\

If it isn't available, try doing a search for OpenCL*.dll
And post back what your outcome is.

Both files are available there in system32 and syswow64. Because it can not lie. The new Boinc 7.0.33 managed not help.

It no longer works. I think the problem can be as well not to be solved.

Do GPU-Z and GPU Caps Viewer show you have OpenCL driver/support?

Yes It is possible, I know that. Unfortunately, this works in practice, not in my case at SETI. All Astropulse tasks that are based on open CL100 automatically canceled by the client or not even accepted by the error message that no GPU is found.

I used already different versions of Boinc and NVIDIA drivers, unfortunately in vain. The program returns to move any employees.

With me only CUDA Fermi functions can be calculated. OPEN CL 100 fails permanently

Me much earlier on, which ran my card only in PCIE 8x mode. The reason was a hardware configuration of a shared PCIE slots but which I have now changed.

Whether this is related to the problems with CUDA CL 100 will show up. It was supposed to go from a technical but also with 8x.

Now it says to wait and watch whether it is in x16 mode.

PCIe x16 have no impact on OpenCL capability to compute (except probably small speed difference).

Do the OpenCL tests (demos) in GPU Caps Viewer actually work?

Exactly, it is. The PCIE speed has no influence on the execution of the CL 100 work units. The change has also brought no success (which would have me wondering)

Is a good suggestion I will test times when I find time for it.
