Hi I was just introduced to SETI@Home by a friend, I have set up BOINC and have been working through tasks for about 24hours now. My friend also told me about "Lunatics" and their application to speed things up. I have downloaded, and tried to install, I believe I have this correct I don't want Astropulse at the moment as this is just an older laptop. I don't select anything from the next screen Then I am presented with this What am I doing wrong? Any advice greatfully received |

this may sound strange but please follow me here. since it wants you to pick an app do so. Pick the ATI "brook" version because its to only one available for your GPU. If it actually installs, which I think it should, then just go to your seti@home preferences page and unclick "Use ATI GPU" If in the future you want to use the GPU then just click that again and it should allow work, when available, to be crunched on your GPU. /edit actually go to the website first and unclick then finish the install. That seems to have done the trick, I was wondering about that. So if you have a graphics card you have to select a graphics application, even if you don't want one. Thanks for the help, seems to be running OK with the Lunatics app now. |

So if you have a graphics card you have to select a graphics application, even if you don't want one. I didn't need to. So it's almost something weird on your system, some personal Gremlins. ;) |

Another newbie question, since I have the Lunatics app the time left to run on each task has gone up from 2-3 hours to over 24 they are still taking round two hours but as I have 14 task left at a day each I can't download any more. Will this sort itself out or is it something with the Lunatics app as the times were better before. |
