Hi. Been BOINC/SETI users for years.
I suddenly get a upload error 184 on my FreeBSD box, and can't figure out what is wrong. I've tried recompiling BOINC and have reset the project. After reset new work is downloaded and done, but results can't be uploaded.
I keep my FreeBSD updated with portupgrade.
Any suggestions?
Regards

Anybody?

Is something broken in my FreeBSD installation?

Hmmm. I'm not really qualified to help here, but I'll help point out the obvious anyways.

You download tasks, so your internet connection is OK there. +1

However, you cannot upload tasks. :-( -1

Your machine is obviously crunching, because it is attempting to upload completed tasks, but they time-out on seti's end because your machine won't send 'em. Hmmm

So, perhaps a firewall issue?
Your problem may not be BSD specific, your problem may simply be some settings within your BSD machine.

Try searching seti@home or Boinc forums for the specific error you are encountering. If you find something pertaining to Linux it could also pertain to you.

Best wishes.
