Mark. And your advice would BE??? Just what, Robert? ____________ ****** "Ask not, what your kitty can do for you. Ask what you can do for your kitty." As it is kitten, so shall it be done.

Mark, you are correct, "a hard rain is gonna fall". I guess with Mitt it won't be on the working man because many of them will not have jobs in this country, therefore they will no longer be working men. Sigh..........I don't know where to go here. Rommer is not gonna be this country's saviour, I know that. Obummer is even more clearly not the way to go. Dammit, JFK was the man. Sad he is not here now. You all try to accuse me of being left of center. Where the F would some of you have me go, for chrissakes? There is simply no where left to go, dammit. ____________ ****** "Ask not, what your kitty can do for you. Ask what you can do for your kitty." As it is kitten, so shall it be done.

Due the the fact they don't have to worry about being re-elected, isn't it usual for US presidents to be most productive/reformist in their second term ?

Due the the fact they don't have to worry about being re-elected, isn't it usual for US presidents to be most productive/reformist in their second term ? That is a VERY scary thought/ ____________ ****** "Ask not, what your kitty can do for you. Ask what you can do for your kitty." As it is kitten, so shall it be done.

Sigh..........I don't know where to go here. My sympathies are with you Mark. In all countries we have been reduced to a choice between Tweedledum and Tweedle-even-dummer. World wide politics has been trivialised. Who do you vote for when both both options have their heads planted firmly in their posteriors ? FIIK. Maybe the answer is to ignore the major parties and vote for an independent. If enough people did that it might scare the majors into putting up good candidates and good policies. Although what would probably happened is that the rules would be jiggered to make it harder for independents or minor parties to run. T.A.

Sigh..........I don't know where to go here. I tried that when Lee Iococca ran. I actually thought that as a businessman, he might have had a clue how to run a freaking country. I admit, I just don't know which way is up right now. The ditch or the grave........dunno. Sad, that is all the choice we have now. ____________ ****** "Ask not, what your kitty can do for you. Correct and correct, there is the problem. ____________ -Dave #2

I still do not have an answer to the question posed in the thread's title.

MS -- well, for me, considering the alternatives, I would vote for Obama.

Dammit, JFK was the man. Sad he is not here now GOD sorted it out. I suppose you could be true to your religious faith and let god sort it out for you. GOD will be there, on Election Day, AT THE MOMENT everyone's mind/hand/finger is ready to vote. And GOD and Everyone will Know The Result, on Election Night. Or a month or two later if 2000 is repeated. Oh JOY! Or, The DEVIL will be Everyone's Guide when The DECISION is made. I know what my Mind/Hand/Finger will be doing. Voting for The Twit(MEH) and The Shreader. aka as Mr. Romney and Mr. Ryan. Fiscal Responsibility. Leadership. No Blaming. Look how OBlabby and His Zombies are running the campaign. Beyond Sickening. Vote for OBlabby and Continue to Be The Problem. Vote R & R and Vote The Solution. TheSolutionIsTheGreatBigCMEcomingOurWayFourthAngel ____________

Does anybody have some advice for me other than cut and run? You could always do what others have done. But a plot of land in the middle of nowhere, build a house, put up a high fence all around it, and cut all ties with the world, and live by your own standards. A sort of personal commune if you like. Be a bit lonely though ....

Reports all over the place that New York's Attorney General, Eric Schneiderman, is invetigating 12 investment firms including Bain Capital, Mitt Romney's firm, about aggresive tax strategies in order to slice hundreds of millions of dollars from their tax bills.

Might be worth posting this stuff in the existing "Tax avoidance & Evasion" thread.

I've gathered that Mark doesn't want a strong central government with the powers to tax and regulate industry and trade.

Chris, well MS suggested the possibility of cutting and running -- so some degree of speculation regarding 'run to' seems appropriate. It is simply that his views make for some interesting speculation.

I am voting for Obama. I have actually done better under his Presidency and we've both seen a significant rise in our incomes.
