As the thread title indicates, I happen to believe in God.

You might ridicule me for this.
But it brings me much comfort.

It's quite evident by the level of serenity you bring to the boards. :)

Is it really that hard to make a "scientific" approach when it comes to certain subjects for those people who insist or state that they are "believers"? (Read at the bottom).

Is it all about churchgoing and worshipping?

If so, if you are an agnostic or an atheist, you are not supposed to be any better than the Catholic Church which once had a scientist (Giordano Bruno) burnt to death in the fire.

Perhaps a good reason to hate (or at least dislike) those "believers". Religion is not supposed to have done us anything good, never.

Yes, definitely an approach to a specific subject should be carried out in a proper manner. By means of such an "deterministic" approach (please suggest an alternative wording), the desired results may be obtained in the same fields which are related to the particular subjects of interest (this can be put around).

You make very little sense, and a lot of people are ignoring you.

When people start having conversations with imaginary people they are usually diagnosed as schizophrenic.

Sounds like that old saying

"When I talk to God it's called prayer. When God talks back it's called schizophrenia".

It all depends what he says I suppose. :-)

.....Religion is not supposed to have done us anything good, never.....

Religion per se may not have, although many have found comfort in its teachings. The followers of religion though have done a lot for humanity in general. The Salvos and St. Vincent de Paul Society to name two.

Any scientists in here? I still think I'm better at explaining many things than others around here...

I find comfort in the teachings of Roger Highfield, does that make him a God?
I think he'd resent the accusation.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but a wise person understands the difference between opinion and fact.
Just because one believes something does not make it a truth, and indeed truths will remain true even if one doesn't believe in them.

If you want to challenge a theory, look at its evidence.
The evidence for evolution is much and varied, with things like the fossil record, and the decades of study, testing, experimentation and consensus of the peer-reviewed scientific community.
The evidence for creation is one book written hundreds of years ago, and the blind faith of a few medieval throwbacks.
No contest.

On an unrelated note, i happen to believe in spelling.

yet again with the slams. You are very good at making one seems an innocuous statement a flame.

I seem to see people that find themselves in the Minority opinion to be highly Vocal. Not the other way around.

I'm sure there are some absolutes like dying and taxes. both of which the wealthy seem to want to avoid. Death because they'll never get into heaven and taxes because it delays their gratification in the here and now.

If and when I get to the pearly gates, I will simply have to ask why it was necessary to put so much crap on my plate.
