Respectively meaning Deadquiet, Thirst and Porkville...

Porkville? That beats the heck out of Yermo, Its name is derived from the Spanish word for wilderness.

I already do, been doing that since 2004, just no one noticed until now.

Speaking of odd place names, I have a shipmate from my first boat who lives in Weed, California, up near Mt. Shasta (and yes, I think he does...). And south of Bakersfield are two towns called Weedpatch and Pumpkin Center. I've had lunch in all three.
