I'm running Boinc on my win xp 64bit and have a few thousand tasks left to do. I also have win 7 on another hard drive and use a dual boot system from time to time. Windows to Windows should be OK. Migrating between mismatched pairs would not be OK (Windows to Linux for example). You need to copy the entire BOINC DATA directory. In XP it is in c:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\BOINC by default, and in Windows 7 it is in c:\ProgramData\BOINC by default. Procedure: 1) STOP BOINC on XP. 2) MOVE the data directory tree to the location where you would like it on 7 (NOTE that the default location in XP does not exist in 7). 3) Install BOINC in 7 (make certain to point the Data directory at the location where it was copied.) 4) Run BOINC in 7. ____________ BOINC WIKI | |
