I got an Astropulse WU for my NVIDIA GT 520 yesterday -- "AstroPulse v6 v6.04 (opencl_nvidia_100)". It completed in a little under 9 hours and validated. But I haven't seen any notice about AP applications for NVIDIA GPUs being released ... was this just part of a small batch of test runs, or what?

Eric did announce it in this post:

The NVIDIA version for BOINC v7+ is out. The v6 version will probably go out on Monday.

Eric's post that it was released for BOINC versions 7.0.xx was in a news forum thread on another topic:
http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/forum_thread.php?id=69019&postid=1274108. There were few if any AP tasks available until today.

Happy crunching!

Edit: Claggy beat me (again).

Any idea where to get it for those of us with an app_info?

I see a "Windows/x86 6.04 (opencl_nvidia_100)" listed on the applications page but no link to download it.

I presume that I need the .exe and the .cl files defined in app_info.

The Stock 6.04 ATI/NV apps are the same as the r1316 Luatics app:

AP6 for NV & ATi GPUs r1316 released

or there is the later r1363 app available at Lunatics too.

You just need the .exe in the app_info, the .dll and .cl don't need to be in it, the app knows where to find them.

Thank you claggy. I have downloaded and will try on my Guinea Pig machine (the one I usually test stuff on) before putting onto the others.

A big thankyou to the Lunatics crew for getting this one out there.

Hmmm??? I am running BOINC v7 but have seen NO reference to v7+ anywhere but in this thread. AFIK I have 4 ap v6 tasks waiting to run. I seem to recall having seen a couple of messages saying that there were no tasks available for v7.

Here's my sys info:

Any thoughts as to why no BOINK v7+ and no sign of AP for cuda_fermi?

Don't Mix up Boinc v7 with Multibeam v7 (which hasn't been released here yet),

You're running anonymous platform, If you don't have a v6 Astropulse Nvidia or ATI OpenCL app referenced in your app_info you won't get Astropulse v6 Nvidia or ATI Wu's, Full Stop.

Now that there is a gpu app for them (as well as the CPU app) they are as rare as hens teeth. The splitters produce about 40 Multibeam to 1 Astropulse work unit. I have been trying to pick one up for a couple of days now with no luck. The server status page indicates there are none available at the moment.

Seeing as you are running under anonymous platform you did update your app_info file and get the apps Claggy linked to didn't you? By the way it's an OpenCL app not a cuda one, so nothing to do with the cuda_fermi plan class.

Thanks guys! I think I'll give my ancient brain a break, and wait for the next Lunatics Installer release...

I noticed the AP WUs after the dearth of WUs was gone, and finally restarted yesterday.

Thought it was a standard CPU AP till I read the (opencl_NVIDIA) bit :)

Just checking, doesn't the lunatics installer update the app_info? Wanted to check or it means I have to go off and edit mine...

The Lunatics installer creates an app_info.xml for the chosen applications, the previous app_info.xml (if present) is moved into the oldApp_backup subdirectory. Thus it's a replace operation rather than an update. Any customizations such as running multiple tasks simultaneously need to be redone.
