In addition to the shows listed, my first memory of him was a show called "The Farmer's Daughter", about a US Congressman (or was he a Senator) from Minnesota, who hired a girl from back home to care for his children and mother after his wife died. Inger Stevens was the Nanny, and Agnes Morehead played his disabled mother. (I think this was BEFORE "Bewitched"). Another great actor who had a long career playing characters rather than Leading Men. Donald Infernal Optimist / Submariner, retired |

Wonder what else about that show is art immitating life? Donald Infernal Optimist / Submariner, retired |

I first became aware of William Windom watching My World and Welcome to it. I had enjoyed reading James Thurber's works while in school. And seeing that the tv show was based on his works I just had to watch it. I really enjoyed watching him portray Commodore Decker. He put a lot of emotion in that part. He might have been just a character actor to some, But I think he was just a damn fine actor. RIP Mr. Windom [/quote] Old James |
