I just watched a program on the Science channel titled "The Secret Life of Chaos". It totally blows "Intelligent Design" out of the water. I don't have the gift of writing to explain why but all I can say is just watch it. Then I take it WinterKnight that you agree with my assessment of the presentation. I loved the segment on the Mandelbrot Set and fractal geometry. Bob DeWoody My motto: Never do today what you can put off until tomorrow as it may not be required. This no longer applies in light of current events. |

It is coming on again at 5:00 AM. I have set my recorder to catch it. Steve Warning, addicted to SETI crunching! Crunching as a member of GPU Users Group. GPUUG Website |

Just finished it. I liked it right up to the end where he said that life needed no Designer with one hand, then with the other hand said life is a set of simple rules. As I have said, order and chaos live side by side. Who made the simple rules and set the machine into motion? Yes, machine, Designed. Yes, Mandelbrot Set, fractal geometry, butterfly effect, were all very informative and I wont deny that they are true. But I deny that have no Design. I deny that put together they show no Design. I thought to myself when I seen the part of the computer program that learned to walk by evolution, who made who? The computer design that was started by Alan Mathison Turing, the very man who was the start of the program itself, a man. This thought can only lead me into the logic of, in the end; an Unmoved Mover. |

ID, your faith is consistent, data is lacking to verify your claims. I remain agnostic! I also require somewhat cogent arguments. |

Unmoved Mover. Exactly : NATURE driven by randomness, mutation and advantage in survival situations and mating. Is the unmoved mover responsible for the fact that average heights of males and females has grown 2 inches in 50 years, What about new breeds of dogs such as Labradoodles; perhaps it was selective breeding for desired traits. |

Unmoved Mover. Yes. Just because the Unmoved Mover gave us freewill does not mean the Designer does not know what we will do. Labradoodles, cows, pigs, if it lives with us there is no more randomness and they might not even get the 'so called' benefit of having sex. I'm 5'5", yet still found a mate, she is 5'2". LOL As I have said before, make a verse from nothing that has come from this verse. In other words we just manipulate what has already been given to us. |

I can understand how Galileo felt, now. when the only arguement is "No it isn't" or better yet a Monty Python sketch In a rich man's house there is no place to spit but his face. Diogenes Of Sinope |

Yes, ID continues to amaze. It is good for me to hear his viewpoints and reasoning processes. His assumptions and reasoning processes are like nothing I have spent much time around before. |

What about A.I.? Who made who? And by what rules? The program written. Does this not denote design? If a computer program can learn to walk in 20 generations there was an Unmoved Mover who wrote the program. The logic is sound. In this case if A.I. questions the creator and his creation, it comes up with Alan Mathison Turing. As the bald headed man in the show started out, yet, failed to see even though he had mushrooms all over himself. With one hand--rules for the reason. With the other hand, no need for a Designer. I don't believe that I'm the one in conflict. |

What about A.I.? Who made who? And by what rules? The program written. Does this not denote design? Actually, That is a good point. There would be no A.I. with out a man to put it together and program it. How ever that can be proved by man, Your point that a desinger made us has no such proof, Only faith. Still, food for thought. I see the Sky-man directed there be created yet another thread with merely a link from someone elses thoughts. Insanity: Doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results. Janice |

I see the Sky-man directed there be created yet another thread with merely a link from someone elses thoughts. Agreed. And if the evidence is denied over and over again you will get the same results. |

I see the Sky-man directed there be created yet another thread with merely a link from someone elses thoughts. So if E.T actually landed & it's proven that we are his descendants, will you accept him as God or will you then state that an "unmoved Mover" created E.T.? |

I see the Sky-man directed there be created yet another thread with merely a link from someone elses thoughts. No, I would not accept E.T. as a god. Yes, Designer/God is not the one who wrote the program that A.I. lives in. A.I. in time, will know that a program was written for human. The design as we know it came from what to us looks like NO-Thing. So, the Designer has to be one who makes from nothing. Simply converting energy into matter is not Godlike. It can be explained. It may look like magic to some but not to me. |
