i've been a member of seti for years, but today when i tried to edit my profile i received this message:

To prevent spam, an average credit of 1.0 or greater is required to create or edit a profile. We apologize for this inconvenience.

what does this mean and how do i fix it?

It means that you haven't done enough work for the project to have an average credit of at least 1.0. In looking at your account, you haven't contacted the servers to receive or report work since July 26.

Once you download some work, complete and submit it, and get it validated, you'll be able to edit your profile, as well as post on boards other than Q&A.

Read "average credit" as 'Recent average credit' (RAC)

You now have 'Recent average credit 0.09':

The only way to make it >1 is to run some SETI tasks (and wait until they are validated (= credit granted))
