They have been using google compute for a long time...probably longer than BOINC has been around. Nothing I saw on that site would indicate Folding@home was doing that exclusively. From reading the F@H message boards the google client is usually a bit behind the standard F@H client anyway. So hardly a deterent to them making a BOINC version.

The big hurdle there is that the current client works well and they currently have little or no reason to make a BOINC client. Once BOINC has matured and we start pulling users away from them then they will have a real reason to port or change to BOINC.
