Mads = multi arrey detection system is to make the largest ever communications tracking telescope device known to man kind it would be placing each device every 250,000 miles to 300,000 thousand miles in every direction north south east west straight lines from earth to the edge of our own solar system setting up a space network to make the biggest arrey ever created when all of the arreys are turned on you would be able to track every thing in our solar system and also use it as a radio telescope to track and send messages out into the universe think of the possibilities.........

There are plenty of other arrays on this world that Seti could make use of, but aren't doing so. They're getting their data at this time from Arecibo and the Green Bank telescope. Budgeting does not allow for any other telescopes to be used at this time. Perhaps that they can when you know of a rich sugar-daddy willing to spend a couple of millions on SAH each year.....
