Matt's Music Schedule

It's no real surprise given financial constraints we're operating with a minimal crew here at the lab. In fact, I'm down to working just above half time on average. Lucky for me, though, these hard times coincide with my music career exploding. I've been performing around the US, Canada, Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Iceland, England, and France during the past year. And there's more to come. Maybe I should tell you about these gigs on the off chance you're interested. They involve three of my active bands,
Secret Chiefs 3, miRthkon, and MoeTar.

miRthkon (and MoeTar) tour the USA! - August 11-28, 2012

A full blown US tour. Both bands will be on the first half (in the east), then miRthkon continues on playing gigs with the likes of Thinking Plague and Kayo Dot (bands you probably haven't heard of but are quite important in the world of interesting/challenging music)! Here are all the dates:

Secret Chiefs 3 - Festival Alchemy at Zahar (in the Moroccan Desert) - September 27-30, 2012

Secret Chiefs 3 Europe Tour - October 24 - December 2, 2012

After a special set of gigs at the "Mausolée Mécanique" in Lille, France we will embark on a tour mostly through mainland Europe. Dates are still being booked but looks like we'll be going through France, Spain, Belgium, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Romania, and beyond! A formal tour schedule will eventually appear on the Web of Mimicry site.

There are other local shows in the Bay Area in between all that. Note that Secret Chiefs 3 have some NYC shows in October I'll likely not be at (I have to work at the lab at some point!)

I had the privilege of seeing Matt and the Secret Chiefs in London in the last year, and they put on a very professional show. Matt was a true gentleman and took the trouble to come out to talk to us afterwards. If any of you can get to see them and support Matt please do so. He's a great guy :-)

Well, it certainly is a pity they're not playing in Europe, preferrably in
Amsterdam ;-), flying to San Francisco is above my budget...on such short
notice.
