I was no there, by a fluke of time.
I was not called.
I was left home to sit and protest the war action.

But, your heroic actions in that war have never left me.

I have known that pain. It left me 25 years or more ago.

Just let it be known, that some here never left your side.
And welcomed you home for your heroic efforts.

I know that might sound shallow, not having gone........but at least I did not diss you on your return.

Perhaps you might forgive me for all the protest songs we sang on your behalf.....
