So, how do I debug this and get rid of the error ?
I tried uninstalling and reinstalling - that didn't work.
Running Windows XP SP3, BOINC 7.0.28
It might be something to do with the application that runs the CUDS workunits, because it's not downloading any.

You tried uninstalling and reinstalling what? BOINC? It isn't a BOINC error. It's about the 3rd party application that you use, probably by Lunatics. So you have to exit BOINC, completely, and then rerun their installer, reinstall the optimized apps and coherent app_info.xml file.
If you made an app_info.xml file yourself, did you also download the correct applications for it? It won't do anything without the correct apps.
Else post its contents here (you can find it in your Data directory, by default on XP at C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\BOINC\ and possibly hidden) plus a directory listing of your C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\BOINC\projects\setiathome.berkeley.edu\ directory (showing executables only).

Yes, I reinstalled BOINC.
Set all projects to no new tasks.
Computed and uploaded everything.
Uninstalled BOINC
Deleted all folders
Reinstalled new version of BOINC

Is that what you wanted?

It looks like there is no entry for 6.0.8 CUDA apps, which is probably why I'm not getting any WU for my GPU.
I'd like to get it working without Lunatics first, as that will let me see if there are any computation errors before messing about with it.
But yes, then probably install the latest Lunatics apps.

Then you'll have to delete the app_info.xml file. |

you appear to be using old apps. at least your astropulse if very oout of date. try installing using the Lunatics Unified installer.

Look on the Numbers Crunching Forum for an update to the Aatropulse apps.

Uninstalled BOINC
Deleted all folders
But apparently not your BOINC Data directory, which is where the app_info.xml file lives that gives you the message.
Reinstalled new version of BOINC
Which will continue to use the data directory and everything in it.
The default place for the BOINC Data directory in Windows 2000/XP is at C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\BOINC\ and is most probably hidden.
The app_info.xml file will be in C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\BOINC\projects\setiathome.berkeley.edu\
Just deleting it as Gundolf says won't do it. You'll have to exit BOINC, delete the app_info.xml file, restart BOINC, then reset the project. Only then will BOINC download the default Seti applications. And will the message be gone. ;-)

Thanks
Do I need to set the project to no no tasks first, and complete the pending WUs ?
Or am I being over-cautions?

Running now, downloading only cuda workunits and processing successfully.
I could use the CPU cores to process more workunits overnight.
So once I'm confident there are no calculation errors from cuda I'll install the latest lunatics version.
Thanks everyone.
