dovecoat > Scotland?

Do we need to move it to politics?

Lol:)
In Scotland the tradition of dovecotes is continued in modern urban areas.
A bit far fetched maybe...?

What I do when wondering is just enter the two words in Google, if it comes up with and answer, as it does with Dovecote Scotland then all is well.

Takes a few seconds.

Message 1312902 - Posted: 9 Dec 2012, 5:35:30 UTC - in response to Message 1312694.

A dovecote or dovecot (play /ˈdʌvkɒt/) (Scots: Doocot) is a structure intended to house pigeons or doves. Dovecotes may be square or circular free-standing structures or built into the end of a house or barn. They generally contain pigeonholes for the birds to nest.[1] Pigeons and doves were an important food source historically in Western Europe and were kept for their eggs, flesh, and dung.[2] In Scotland the tradition is continued in modern urban areas.

I would say that the connection is very tenuous at best, and probably shouldn't have been allowed. The only link is the Scots spelling of Dovecote. Doocot would have been OK. However it's academic now anyway. Sorry Julie :-)

Sorry Chris. I am siding with Julie.

I know "it's only a game"

But what if I had posted "Cattle" Well of course there are two meaning for the word "ruminate" one has to do with deep thoughts and the other has to do with animals that "chew the cud" known as ruminating.

So I chose the second meaning a selected cattle".

Extreme I know but with no rules what I posted above would be fine!!
