As I see it is the consensus is it sucks and I agree.

As has been shown many times before changes are made to things based on what they think we want/need. With the changes there are still two bugs that have not been fixed. I do mean actual broken functions & not just changed behavior that is unliked.

I have the feeling that if someone requested a feature to change their view of the webpage background color. That we would all logon one day to find the background color bright green. With no option to change it.

The text would be in green also. Probably a slightly lighter shade though.

Is it my imagination or have the message boards gone awfully quiet since the new "paged format" was introduced?

Or is everyone on holiday?

Or is the USA switched off due to the weather being too hot?

No current holidays here. Perhaps some people didn't like it so they went somewhere more user friendly? Until the other bugs that were introduced by adding the pages are fixed I'm sticking with 10,000 posts per page.

I think some will have given up trying to work out wether page 1 is the begining or the end of the thread depending on the uncertanty principle ruled by if one has just posted, quoted, edited, or replyed to a post,
err give me a minit to read through that again !!!!!

Strangely enough, I've gone with "999"...

Two less digits for my lazy typing, big enough, and a pun on the emergency number for this country!

Unfortunately, your quote makes better sense than what the code does to the forums! There is indeed somewhat of a 'usability issue' at the moment... Has nothing been learnt about what a good GUI should be since the Xerox Palo Alto publications of the 1970's?...

:-(

Unfortunately that doesn't resolve the problem of it ignoring your settings if you make a post.

If they would fix the other features that were broken in the process of adding pages I would have it set to a value closer to 30. I still preferred the old functionality. It was unique and I though a much nicer way to view things. However, if they are going to make the forums like other software I would suggest they just using off the shelf software instead. As it would at least get maintained and bugs fixed. Instead of just doing a half way job of implementing a feature and then leaving at that.

OK...

So Dr DA has just fixed that little niggle. Works for me. Full kudos there!

So... Is everyone else instead watching the Olympics?

I'm (re)playing games. GTA IV and its sidekicks mostly. With the radio station pegged on Independence and the User Music folder chock full of Asia albums, from Asia through to XXX. :)
