Post photography to be critiqued. Rules: 1) Only photographs you have taken. 2) Constructive and civil criticism only please. NOTE: We do not have to queue up to post photographs. BOINC WIKI |

I will start with a photograph I took a few weeks ago in Iron Bridge. The nesting swan was just a few feet from a walkway. Apparently she was enjoying the largess of passersby for a living. BOINC WIKI |

I never had gotten too deeply into photography. So I cannot "critique". However I have dabbled a little. This is the closest to "cool" I ever took. #resist |

An abandonment. Totally ready for a wrecking ball. Piece of history. "Physical Culture Hotel" was granted money for renovation about 5 years ago apparently. Maybe it will be used again. #resist |

Nature pictures are always awesome when you can't see any man made items in my opinion. The is a pleasing picture to look at for sure. -"Young" James "To my mathematical brain, the numbers alone make thinking about aliens perfectly rational. I think its quite awesome myself, I like the fact that you decided to do B&W and the lighting is perfect to set an abstract mood. -"Young" James "To my mathematical brain, the numbers alone make thinking about aliens perfectly rational. Thank you. Looking at it now, I wish my camera had been more centered and straight. It appears I was to the left, with the camera pointing slightly right to center the end of the hallway. Hmm. And I always liked black and white for the purposes of pictures like this where my goal was "desolation". #resist |

I have one for the thread. I was trying to capture depth and still haven't decided if I like it or not. -"Young" James "To my mathematical brain, the numbers alone make thinking about aliens perfectly rational. The real challenge is to work out what aliens might actually be like." -Steven Hawking |

For depth the usual would to have had the focus on the tree in the middle, with both the foreground and background going out. The subject matter here really doesn't lend itself to depth as you don't have anything that is a strong subject to stand out in depth from the rest of the photo. Think of an insect on a blade of grass in a field where the insect and blade it is on are sharp and the rest blurs. Another might be a shot up a tall building where one window is open and the emphasis is placed on that window. |

Those are more akin to a flower or portrait in which a blurred background accents the main object. BOINC WIKI |

One I took several years ago. Very Nice, I bet it the colors would have stood out much more if it weren't cloudy. -"Young" James "To my mathematical brain, the numbers alone make thinking about aliens perfectly rational. How many years ago and how is it stored? Looks like it is starting to fade. |

How many years ago and how is it stored? Looks like it is starting to fade. If the day is somewhat cloudy, the colors can look pretty much like that. Matches my memory anyway. BOINC WIKI |
