Hint for the day. It was after the war with France, and it was not to pay for the war with France, although it did have something to do with the war with France. BOINC WIKI |

The Poms used to sit around drinking tea and complaining. They thought if they threw away all the tea that it would stop the wingeing. |

The treaty forced the English to do something. The taxes were to pay for that something. It was decidedly not in the best interest of the colonies. What was it that the treaty ending the war forced the English to do? BOINC WIKI |

The French had the Ohio river valley. The problem had something to do with the Ohio river valley. BOINC WIKI |

The French had the Ohio river valley. The problem had something to do with the Ohio river valley. Germany had to put up with a similar item for about 4 decades - but not for the same reason. The taxes that were to be paid by the American Colonies were to be used to build something (or rather several somethings), and supply them. These somethings were to be placed to prevent the colonies from doning something that the French did not want the British colonies doing in America. This was part of the Armistice at the end of the French & Indial war (as it is known in the US). BOINC WIKI |

Probably has nothing to do with the answer. Are you refering to the Hessens when you mention Germany? Pluto will always be a planet to me. Seti Ambassador Not to late to order an Anni Shirt |

In 1767, to help the East India Company compete with smuggled Dutch tea, Parliament passed the Indemnity Act, which lowered the tax on tea consumed in Great Britain, and gave the East India Company a refund of the 25% duty on tea that was re-exported to the colonies. To help offset this loss of government revenue, Parliament also passed the Townshend Revenue Act of 1767, which levied new taxes, including one on tea, in the colonies. Not entirely. There is a similar structure to the one that was proposed for the border between the British territory and the French territory near once brewed in Britian. Much of the new taxes on the Colonies was destined to pay for this. BOINC WIKI |

As a result of the Boston Tea Party, Parliament passed the following laws designed to punish the Americans. Before the Boston Tea party, the French insisted that the British do something to the border between the French (in the Ohio valley at the time) and the British. The taxes were to pay for this something, supplies, and garrison for the same. My highschool textbook noted these as a minor footnote, but I can see how they might have loomed MUCH larger. A further note was that the portion in the Americas was a small part of a much larger treaty that set borders between the two empires around the world (for a short time). BOINC WIKI |

The French insisted that the British build a string of ____ to keep the colonists from ______, and the British raised taxes on the colonists so that the colonists would end up paying for it. The objects were never built as the American revolution got in the way. Please fill in the blanks. I really cannot give any more clues without just stating what they were and what they were for. These were the forts to protect from the French? They were insisted upon by the French to prevent the Americans from expanding westward. The Americans were paying the taxes to pay for the forts and the Garissons. I am going to declare a winner. BOINC WIKI |

I thought the Japanese car manufacturers were very careful to pick brand names that didn't mean anything, in any language. A Lexus is only a Lexus, like a Camry is only a Camry. |

There are two car manufacturers names that are almost anagrams of each other (you have to add or subtract one letter). Which two manufacturers? BOINC WIKI |
