yes, i am having a problem with it. :( I am running Win2K Pro on my laptop. I want BOINC suspend work when user is active. However, it seems like it doesn't want to run at all with that option. I have changed it to run always through the boinc manager and the currently running task would start crunching numbers. However, as soon as I put it back to suspend when busy, it refuses to run anymore. And yes, I am giving it adequate time to resume work. I have my setting set to resume after one minute of inactivity. Thanks for the help. |

never use ALPHA Versions Unbeleaveable! 4.56/4.08 up now 12 Hours, attached projects seti lhc and pirates Number of problems: 0 got work from seti, just after attached to the project 2 Sextant 4.26 (pirates) WU passed the client too and now a fat tunescan (lhc) is running on the client (AMD 2400 XP sp2 512 MB) Was playing with suspend on WU level several time, a beauty! every work could be uploaded and rRep. No errors in the "colored" messages not knowing what else the new client is able to offer, but Unbeleaveable! When will we have the honnor, to see the client coming to public? do not open to see details never use ALPHA Versions |

ill try it when the pirates work i have finishes and uploads/reports in. was it just an upload err with 4.55 because when i would run it it would be totally unresponsive. all the things would seeem like they would work but whatever you tried to do wouldn't happen. i couldnt run benchmarks or log it in with other projects or even get it to stop running. to stop it i had to go to task manager and pull an end process tree command. ~boinc its not the credit or satisfaction its the screensavers~ S@h Berkeley's Staff Friends Club ©members |

Hi Upload bug is fixed now. Works fine so far. Installed over 4.54, but the older version is still on disk. Getting an error message in transfer tab after uploadng results. Progress in percent shows 0% all the time. greetz Mike With each crime and every kindness we birth our future. |

Yes. BOINC has matured to the next level. Confirmed suspend. Confirmed resume of interrupted download of WU. (dial-up isp kicked me off) See only small bugs...flickering GUI during activity...reported will resume in xxx seconds a currently downloading WU… Well done! Keep it up. Next version will deserve a toast I’m sure. |

> Installed over ver 4.55, and ver did not change nor did benchmarks run as with > prior vers. > As mentioned in the install-instructions, you can't install v4.56 on top of v4.55, you need to uninstall v4.55 to successfully install v4.56 |

OK attached to pirates to see what would happen and now only have 1 CPU running, guess I will need to detach as Pirates has no work..... Detached and the other CPU started right up......... Just had IE crash and it hung BOINC in the process, had to shut BOINC down by, end this program button, after restart of BOINC, all WUWUs looked like they were lost and it showed that I was not connected to Seti@H any more, so I rebooted and guess what everything came back...... I noticed that I have two cases of pending credits even when there are three error-free outcomes. In WU http://setiweb.ssl.berkeley.edu/workunit.php?wuid=4694446 one was done with 4.56 and in WU http://setiweb.ssl.berkeley.edu/workunit.php?wuid=4643757 one was done with 4.54. In other case creadit is pending 3 days now and in other one credit is just a day late. But becose every other WU gives credit just seconds after the third client have claimed credit, I'm guessing that those 4.54 and 4.56 clients have something to do about it. If those clients are in alpha and beta phase, why do people use them in public release? Isn't seti-beta project up anymore? |

Hi Beta is still inactive. I wrote in the first post use at your own risk. Of course there are a lot of work for the devs with 4.56 because its an Alpha release. But i think it runs very well for the second Alpha, i had no problems running it for 9 days. greetz Mike With each crime and every kindness we birth our future. |
