When I click on show graphics I only get a black window. Any help on this would be great.

Which application was running the task you highlighted before pressing "Show graphics"?

Not all applications have a graphics part, especially not the GPU ones.

Do you have OpenGL video drivers installed?

You can check by GPU Caps Viewer
http://www.ozone3d.net/gpu_caps_viewer/
