Arecibo Observatory has produced a new short (~18 minute) video detailing the history of the observatory, how experiments are conducted and ideas for the future. The AO management has kindly allowed us to make the video available on our website, now posted at: http://seti.berkeley.edu/sites/default/files/arecibo_2012.mp4

Note this is a big file (~200 MB) and won't stream - you'll have to download the whole thing to watch.

Thanks for the video!

(Streaming, HA...)

Thanks for making it a downloadable MP4, it's going right to my media server for proper TV watching.

For the real AV buffs, the DVD source material is up at http://www.eecs.berkeley.edu/~siemion/VIDEO_TS/ VLC seems to play VOB files without any trouble.

Here is another fun Arecibo video clip shot shortly after the Gregorian upgrade, featuring the venerable Jim Cordes giving Alan Alda a tour of the dish and Father of Berkeley SETI Stu Bowyer showing off one of the early incarnations of SERENDIP. http://traveler.vmi.edu/800k/pbs_saf045_800k.mp4 Arecibo stuff starts at ~35:20.
