I could probably eat one and a half, maybe one and three quarters :)

If all that we say
in a single day
with never a word left out
were printed each night
in plain black and white
it would make strange reading no doubt
And then just suppose
before our eyes close
we have to read the whole record through
then wouldn't we sigh
wouldn't we try
a great deal less talking to do
And I more than half think
that many a kink
would be smoother in life's tangled thread
if half what I say
in a single day
were to be left forever unsaid

Oh Misfit, you rogue, you fill me with dread;
I'm gasping and turning sheet white.
I don't want all said to have to be read,
Ere each of us turns off his light.

For Misfit you see, I'm a speech path and we
Find all that you say simply shocking.
I'd be dressed like a slob and quite out of a job
If everyone just gave up talking!!!

(Happy Poet's Day, friend.)

Talking takes a lot of thought
one wrong word and it's all for naught
For the proper word I often hunt
When it's not found I just grin and grunt

Oh yes, I have heard, cowboys utter few words;
They say cowboys tend to be terse.
Are you and exception to rules, Mr. Crow,
You seem to be speaking in verse!!!

I guess I do rhyme from time to time
it helps to relieve stress, of course.
Sometimes the prose come out all wrong
It's hard to rhyme and ride a horse

In my poet's mind's eye, horsie whinnies and neighs
As you ride in the warm prairie air...
Would you care to dismount ere you're down for the count?
Cuz I'm gonna kick your derriere!!!

Some advice for those of you
who want to be a cowboy too
If you're going to rhyme while you wrangle
Try not to let your participle dangle.

I can't top that, I have to say
You've beaten me this Poet's Day.
Whether atop a horse or foal
Cowboy Dave is mighty droll!

(I concede to our resident Poet Laureate, Cowboy Dave. Gotta go now. Bye friends!)

To win over Angela is sublime
but I know if she had more time
She would have beat me with one hard knock
Thank you, thank you, Mr. Clock!
