I'll have My Fries and fish sticks later instead, with ketchup on them both, if that's what I think is meant...

Nah, I know of at least one x58 motherboard that can use up to 48GB of Patriot DDR3 ram(Gigabyte G1.Assassin), You may now pick Yer jaw up off of the floor now. My Asus Rampage 3 Extreme x58 motherboard might do that also, or it might not, as I'd have to buy 16GB of ram in 2 8GB dimms to find out if the 8GB dimms will even be recognized by the motherboard, the cpu shouldn't be a problem, as that's not inexpensive ram either. In any case My PC seems to work better with a full complement of ram.

I just know I'm gonna regret this ....

Vic I'm running Win 7, 64bit Ultimate, Pent D 2.8, on 5Gb RAM with no problems. Why do you think you need 16GB?

It's the motherboard chipset and the cpu I think, a P7P55D Pro, an i5 750 @ 2.81GHz, as there's more room, there was a speed up noted a while back, but I don't remember much about that now, in any case I just shifted 8GB from one motherboard that was being tested with 8GB ram back to this PC. I'm running only 1 GTX590 currently and the only EVGA card that I'll ever buy again as EVGA doesn't honor their warranty to anything bought from ebay or from a private party...

8GB should be just fine Vic.
No speedup with more RAM tho.

Whatever, the ram has been paid for a long ways back and it does seem to help the PCs rac, 8GB would sink, 16GB rises, why I don't know really, less disk activity maybe?

Hey so do I, if I wanted to that is, I'd just have to install 1 pci card, of course it's heavily encrypted to the max allowed(which from what I understand would take a while to crack, months to years), plus it's only Atheros 108Mbps or SuperG 108...
