I had large fish and chips for tea not half an hour ago, but watching Man vs Food on Dave has me salivating again already.

(for anyone outside the UK, Dave is a TV channel)

Gradually starting to get things back in order -

The single PC is back in action, and I will try and get the GPU sorted on the other. It is always best to have a couple of machines functional as a fall back.

No UPS, unfortunately, and I wound need to think where to place one that can protect 4 PCs when they are all running together (some time).

Front border completely weeded, and the old wood chips, now a compost, spread over it. It looks good. We purchased 2x80 litre bags of wood chips which should slow down the growth of new weeds. A bit of light hoeing should then keep things at bay.

Block drive will be RoundUped Wednesday (rain allowing) to kill all the weeds, and both front and back lawns cut (we now pay a man). No further issues there, and the garden should nor detract from the village's efforts to get the prize in the Prettiest Village competition this year.

I now have to figure a way to get my two old servers upstairs and hooked up to do some low level crunching.

Really good news John :-)

Great to hear.

I think you may be looking at two UPS's John, especially if the PC's are quads. I have 3 x APC 1500 units running 8 rigs, and each has 3 out of 5 load lights showing. I'll pm you about it.

Really hope you do, it is a pretty place, the pub was really looking good when I was last there.

Not a problem John. If you get really stuck I'll come up for the day and shift 'em myself for you.

Thanks for the offer, Chris. I may take you up on that, but I have other priorities to support first in the garden and house.

The reason they are still downstairs is one is a real heavy monster (the dual Xeon). The dual P3 is quite light, and I can take the load up on Sheila's stairlift. The reason I am being cautious in loading my arms is the Osteo consultant being worried the bone on the right arm will break. The solution of a general anaesthetic and surgery is out of the question due to the time spent in ICU in April/May.

Hello friends...Monday reminded me to check in a little more often :-)

Have been super busy with school, and yes - the ferrets. Trying to rehabilitate a frightened ferret takes a lot of work!

I appreciate your thoughts, and must remember to be more vocal :-)

How does one frighten a ferret?

Hi Rob...the last owner was a woman - mousy is two, and minky is one.

When minky was a baby she met this dude...he didn't like ferrets, tried to get her to get rid of them, wouldn't touch them, and never let them out of their cage. We think he yelled at them too, because minky doesn't like sudden loud noises.

Because mousy was already a little older, she coped better...but minky was a baby - very impressionable - and needed to be taught appropriate behavior, just like any other pet. Then the woman got pregnant - and he made her get rid of the ferrets.

Minky had more difficulty with men, but now he doesn't discriminate - he is naughty for both of us!!!

BTW - Nice to talk to you all...I am starting my race wear garments (beautiful silk 1920s inspired) - will show you pics soon :-)

Poor Minky, it certainly sounds as if he had a tough start but has now found the owners he deserves

Sounds like the gal should have lost the boyfriend rather than the ferrets. Hope he isn't an abuser.

Gonna take lots of time and patience to get Minky socialized, but it sounds like you are well on the way ...
