Thanks guys - I think Dave's ad is the nearest to my, er, requirements ;-)

Today I went on my weekly shopping day out with my sister in law and the kids. I mostly did window shopping because I can't afford to spend much money now. But still we got some tickets for the Muse concert. I heard they were sold out in 2 hours so I got very lucky.

Nice choice Nick - about the only Hot Chocolate track worth listening to

And not a bad idea late at night. Or after a long and very dirty night shift, when the rest of the world is getting up and one is getting back to one's hotel thinking "How many coach parties will I upset walking in like this" and "I hope the shower doesn't black again like it did yesterday", and "Can I really face another 'Full English' instead of a nice rare rump". Success in those days was arriving in from work, having the shower, going down to the restaurant and being handed the evening menu instead of the breakfast one - some really strange looks as the waiter came out with the fresh mushroom salad for starters, followed by the steak, then a really nice light lemon soufflé to top it off, definitely a Hilton chef showing he can do what the customer wants.

Yes Rob, that was the best one ever.

Well someone has to do the job of turning the street lighting on then off during
the night, people seem to think it all happens by pure magic?

I thought they were switched on/off by pure magic - you've broken my dreams...

Anyhow there was a hilarious event a few months later. A few months after spending three months living a nocturnal life style I had to go back to the same hotel (Its a real hardship having to stay in Hiltons...). I walked into the restraunt at about 7:30am and was greeted by the same waitress that had been so good at finding evening menus during my previous sojourn "Good evening Mr.Smith, if you care to wait a few moments I will find you your menu". My colleagues couldn't believe my "breakfast" that day, nor the fact that I was only charged for a "Full Breakfast"....

I would use the past tense - I think she enjoyed the change of having someone who's native language was the same as hers (not English, but Scots), and was working, not on holiday nor at a conference....

Of course it doesn't. Now you know why all the lamp posts have those horizontal bars on them.

Thanx Rob:) They're coming to Antwerp the 15 july. It's gonna be really crowded I think. They play in the biggest concert-room in Belgium.

No gig that isn't "really crowded" can ever be described as a "great gig". I've been a to a few "good" gigs which were quite empty and the band was on fire, but without am audience that is crammed in tight (no empty seat in the hall) they just can't get into the "great" status...

Last two "greats" have been Runnig, one in Preston guild Hall, and the other, the same band, but outside at Scone Palace....

If you intend to go to one of these gigs with the dogs, John; then
do remember to take a lamp post with you too.

I don't like crowded concerts either but I'm willing to make an effort just to see Muse. I once went to a Wilco concert in Londen, it was in 2002, the time they weren't that famous yet. There were only like 200 people but it was one of the best concerts I ever saw. The band really had contact with the audience.

I love the Status Quo concerts that I go to. Everyone gets up and dances but the audience are all over 50, but so well behaved !!!!!

Er, why do I feel suddenly ancient .....
