I used to use SETI@home Classic before it switched to being run by BOINC in 2005, and have only recently rejoined. I recall an option which allowed you to download a large number of files to your computer to analyse offline, which was useful back in the days of dialup internet.

However, my computer will be going offline for a week or two and I was wondering if the same feature is possible on BOINC. Currently I only have two files being analysed and two which are waiting to start. I'd like to download more so that they can be worked on when there is no internet connection and then uploaded at a later date.

Many thanks.

If you go into your Account and go into your Computing Preferences, look under the heading "Network Usage" for the options "Maintain enough Tasks to keep busy for at least (max 10 days" and "...and up to an additional".

With both those options set to 10 days, you can hold up to a 20 day cache theoretically.

If you are going to be offline for awhile, preferentially use the first one (Maintain enough work for X days) as it will also attempt to finish and report any tasks that far before deadline.
