Hey everybody, I just added Einstein@home to my projects using the "add project" feature in the BOINC program. I signed up with Einstein as a new user using the same email i use for Seti@home, and when it asked me for my name i used the same name i use here (Yanivicious). I don't see any evidence that the accounts are "linked" however. When i say linked i mean, i see that when i click on the name of many users here on S@H, it shows the different projects they are involved in and their credits in them etc.. on their profile page. Will i be able to see that once i earn some credits in einstein, or did i do this wrong? If anybody could tell me how I could tell i'd be grateful. Regards, Yanivicious |

That feature doesn't depend on credits earned but on the number of connections to either project, as such the information gets shared between projects. So, if you've really used the same email address for both projects, you just need some patience. It may take a few hours/days. Gruß, Gundolf Computer sind nicht alles im Leben. Thank you Gundalf, i now understand it is the email address that links your account across projects. |

The multi project stats are based on a third party site that does the work. Projects do not add a new user to their output for the third party stats sites until some credit has been earned for that project. So the sequence of events: 1) Add Project A. 2) Add project B. 3) Earn some credit for project A 4) Earn some credit for project B. 5) Project A reports credits earned. 6) Project B reports credits earned. 7) Stats site gathers project information from each project. 8) Stats site publishes this information. 9) Project A collects data from the stats site. 10) Project B collects data from the stats site. Note that all of these steps except 7-8 can happen in almost any order, and that it loops from 3 to 10. Different projects publish the stats on different time schedules - SETI typically publishes once a day unless there is DB trouble - in which case it is one of the first items to be turned off. The stats sites can poll each of the projects sites at any rate they wish - typically once every 4 or 6 hours. BOINC WIKI |
