Kevin, There has been a lot of discussion about this on Number Crunchers, quite a few folks have come up with solutions of various complexity, have a look there and you will probably find the answer (very few of the "real experts" stray from the comfort of that forum...) Once you log in with the authenticator, you can go to "Your Acount" and look at the email address used to create the account, and set the password. The email is the unique key used for distinguishing accounts. BOINC WIKI |

-Minor issue- Joined Team SETI USA about 3 days ago, and when the screen saver pops up or if I went to show graphics, my credits are showing, but not my team. Does it just take a few days or so to show that...? Thanks Chuck |

Does it just take a few days or so to show that...? You have not succeeded in joining the team with the account you posted with. It is still showing "Team - none". BOINC WIKI |

Tuning BOINC down to 80% eased my issues with overheating. Would like to install an Antec 620 water cooled system, not sure if its worth all the hassle. A good all copper heat sink would be nice if such a beast exists. I Opened my case & have a good fan blowing in, and moving my computer to a nearby AC duct has greatly helped. I ran for about 3 hours today at 100%, and hit 147"F max, but 159.8'F is the max safe limit for my AMD II X4 640, and that is close enough. I did have past issues with my machine shutting down over heat, but as long as I am watching it close, and have the AC on, it seems to be ok. I run at 80% if I leave it unattended. I am getting nothing but ASTROPULSE WUs, at the moment thought I read that those were rare. Gonna take a while to crunch those. |

147 seems a bit warm even for stock cooling. Consider new thermal paste or getting a larger HSF. Water cooling seems a bit excessive for that cpu In a rich man's house there is no place to spit but his face. Diogenes Of Sinope |

I do know some people have had good luck with a desk fan at a distance of 2 or 3" pointed into an open case. One instance I know of, that was the only way to keep the GPU cool. BOINC WIKI |
