Voyager 1 11.1 billion miles from earth, voyager 2 9.8 billion miles from earth, both are in a bow shock wave caused by the sun. Seems its concentrateing particles.

Brilliant stuff, thanks Lynn :-) Yes, indeed. Your welcome, Chris "It is very exciting. We are approaching the solar system's frontier." Maybe we will find out what this means?? Sun Slower Than Previously Thought: New Finding May Upend 'Bow-Shock' Theory

Assuming the craft continues to function normally, they will have to start turning off other on-board instruments from 2020, and it is expected to run out of power completely in 2025.

Yes, indeed hope they find something A remarkable achievement but they won't find anything since it will take 75000 years to reach the nearest star and thats if it is even aimed at Proxima Centauri. It's a big place out there folks.

Assuming the craft continues to function normally, they will have to start turning off other on-board instruments from 2020, and it is expected to run out of power completely in 2025. One day, in many years to come, when we can travel through space at speeds far in excess of that possible at the moment, man's quest will be to, "Find Voyagers and recover".... ____________ The Kite Fliers -------------------- Kite fliers: An imaginary club of solo members, those who don't yet belong to a formal team so "fly their own kites" - as the saying goes.

Not sure it wouldn't be best to let them carry on and see "who else" finds them!

Not sure it wouldn't be best to let them carry on and see "who else" finds them! Apparently in the future the Klingons come across one of the voyagers and destroy it :( ____________ In an alternate universe, it was a ZX81 that asked for clothes, boots and motorcycle. Beer/wine o'clock, the best of the o'clocks. Humpty dumpty sat on a wall, along came a giant, and cooked him for breakfast.

Not sure it wouldn't be best to let them carry on and see "who else" finds them! The Klingons are now relegated to the annals of history. One suspects, via their constant fighting, that they may well have become extinct by now. Can't say the same about the Dalek's though, their bound to be out there somewhere. ____________ The Kite Fliers -------------------- Kite fliers: An imaginary club of solo members, those who don't yet belong to a formal team so "fly their own kites" - as the saying goes.

A band led by a Voyager engineer also played "Johnny B. Goode," one of the songs from the Golden Record. The Golden Record is a 12-inch, gold-plated copper disk containing sounds and images selected to portray the diversity of life and culture on Earth.
