	I've researched for about an hour now why BOINC continues to keep the status for SETI@home as "Communcation deferred". Anyone know how to fix this? I would really appreciate. Another thing I'm interested in is the SETI@home screensaver I've seen, I'll attach a picture of it... I'm very interested in this screensaver and I would like to know how to set it to my screensaver if someone could post instructions on how to do that, I would greatly appreciate it.

There's nothing to fix. The entire building housing both the S@H and BOINC servers suffered a power outage during the early morning hours of Monday, PDT. Power was ultimately restored and the servers began coming back up late this afternoon. Of course, tomorrow is scheduled maintenance day, so the S@H servers will again be offline for several hours starting around 8-9am PDT. However, you don't seem to have any computers attached to the account you posted your message from. This could be the result of the databases playing catchup, or you might have a second account. As to the screen saver, you set that as you would any other screensaver; through Windows. If you are using a GPU to do S@H work, however, you shouldn't try to use the screensaver, doing so will negatively impact GPU performance. ____________

	I also have the same problem of not being able to see the screensaver which is the main reason I downloaded the program. What settings do you have to make in BOINC to activate the Seti@home screen saver? Currently, the BOINC screensaver is the only option in windows. I'm running windows 7 64 bit and a an Nvidia graphics card.

	When you select the BOINC screen saver, it automatically shows the screen saver for whatever science app is currently running. If the application doesn't have a screen saver app or if you are using your graphics card to process, BOINC will show its generic screen saver instead. As stated, since you have an nVidia graphics card, you are using that to crunch and therefore cannot use the SETI@Home screen saver.
