I've been scouring the boards trying to find this.
From what I gather, there once was a 32-bit Linux CUDA client but it had problems and was eventually pulled.

Just wondering if this is still the case and that I haven't looked over it.

I've looked at Lunatics site, as well as Arkayns site. I've found links to crunch3rs site, but they all seem to be dead.

Hi Justin

The 32bit CUDA client was pulled as it was buggy and generated work unit errors. As most crunchers were running 64bit distributions I believe it was deemed a waste of resources to fix and so it was pulled.

Do what I did .... upgrade to the 64 bit version of your distribution (I did it to both Ubuntu and Mandriva) - I haven't looked back since and my seti scores have increased ten-fold from running the CUDA client. (Actually its more than ten-fold lol)

Cheers

Hi Mark,

I also would like to see a 32-bit Linux CUDA client, simply because my Ubuntu machine is an ancient ( but reliable ) 2800+ Athlon XP which can't be upgraded to run 64-bit Ubuntu. The Athlon CPU is awful at processing seti@home work units, and I'm sure its Zotac PCI GT430 would do much better, but the lack of a 32-bit CUDA client makes that impossible, so instead I use it to process Einstein@Home work units. I even tried to see if I could get seti@home working under Wine in order to use the GT430, but wasn't able to.

Don I.

You may want to put a request into the Lunatics team, however my guess is that 32 bit cuda on linux is such a small user population that it may not be worth the effort (Like we could be talking a handfull of people worldwide.)

However it cant hurt to ask ;)

Cheers
