It's so nice that John has this place to come to when he feels up to it.
A place where he is always welcomed and comforted.

Such is the place known as the Cafe at Seti.

Sorry for the late look in, still the same problem driving it - tiredness, listlessness and concentration being less than before.

Continued progress on the new immune system ... thee white cell count is sky high, the red cell count is obviously high (no need of transfusions) and the platelet count has reached the point the blood samples do not show bruising.

I am now transferred back to the Haematology care of my local specialist hospital.

It is now just time to recover from the chemo hammering of recent weeks, and the new immune system seems to be working better than expected.

When I get back to daily posts, I will drop this thread ...

Happy to hear your progress continues, John.
Chemo is nasty stuff. Lori was told that even though her chemo has ended, not to really expect to start feeling much better for almost a month.
But she already is visibly better to me after a couple of weeks.

Hope your strength and stamina continue to build.

Every reason to believe that will happen, but it may take a month or more to get the smile back fully and regularly ...

Well, I've already started calling her my 'new, improved' Lori...LOL.
And I have no doubt you shall be new and improved soon as well.

Getting less tired each day, but it looks like I need about 6 weeks to get a good level of recovery since I was released back in to the wild.

Still falling asleep in front of the TV the last 2 days, yet meant to come here (subject to SETI running). I let myself dowwn.

Improving daily.

Thanks all ...

Falling asleep in front of the TV...sounds like a natural event to me, John.

Saw the original Haematology consultant early Tuesday to see where we go next, now the stem cell transplant bit is done.

The rule of thumb is things move after 100 days from when the transplant was done, which will be mid April. So, I am assuming that it takes that long for the new immune system to fully settle.

I will be having bloods and a 24hr urine sample about a week before, to see the absolute and trend figures before we start the next stage (termed Maintenance).

The consultant is very pleased with progress so far, and is interested in the trends for the Kappa Light Chain Paraprotein results over the next few months.

I will update later ...

That's farther than I can walk, My left ankle is the limit, ever since the 2002 surgery, it starts to grind after a bit of walking and that gets painful, so I don't walk far.
