Sorry for not posting last night, but the Hospital car forgot to get me at 04.30pm and alternatives were arranged. Not much time left after a meal and bath then sleep. As you can see I am heading back to Nottingham, but getting ready for my 07.30 am collection car

No stem cells harvested yesterday - white cell count OK, but stem cell count only 50% of the minimum target.

Very confident both targets will be exceeded and harvesting stated today. If so, then today and tomorrow should be sufficient for the transplant, according to the Nurse in Charge's expertise.

I now look forwards to seeing how I feel after 5+ hours of blood being recycled?

Been a funny sort of day, and a busy one.

Stem cells were harvested for 5 hours today (that is Wednesday), and more will be taken today (Thursday).

Didn't feel any different but fatigue and sleeping before the TV rules.

I woke to find the time, so it's off to bed as I am up at 05.30am for collection at 07.00am. But it should be the finish and I can do catch up shopping Friday (may be?)

Thank you Ang for the beautiful roses. They went down well here, and should last the Christmas break.

Not a lot to report except harvesting of stem cells is proceeding. That is both for yesterday and today. I have a final session tomorrow, and there will be sufficient for liquid nitrogen storage and to move towards a stem cell transplant, for a new immune system, in the next month or so.

Until I need to go to isolation for the transplant I will be thinking of you all.

Oh well. It looks like the chemo, and higher doses, have finally caught up with me.

Just came from a shower and hair wash, and the bath would not drain. The plug was full of my hair - coming out in handsfull.

Here comes a new Mr Baldyman ...

Sorry, been a little tired the last few days, possibly the higher chemo doses.

Now finished the stem cell collections, and produced 3.2 million. They want between 2 and 4 million for the next stage - the stem cell transplant.

Most of my hair has now fallen out (just 4 days). But I am told it should grow back in 4 to 6 months, and it will be course and curly (like pub hair) and probably bright ginger. LOL

I am not sure when the hair will actually start to regrow, and I still have a massive dose of chemo to kill my immune system when the transplant takes place (some time next month I think).
