Yes, so am I.

I have even agreed a contract with PERA Innovations Ltd, the largest commercial R&D group in Europe, to write a EU Framework 7 R&D project over the next 2 months.

Excellent, and the fee will come in very useful.

Just got back from my first meeting to conceptualise two possible projects the client company put forwards.

One certainly looks reesearchy enough for FP7, and the other can go to the UK TSB for funding. Both have environmental arguments, and could save lives in a forced fire.

Looks like I can get my teeth in to this soon - 4 hours per day steady writing with a finish for the end of October.

Looks like the good news continues.

Returned from a consultation with my Haematologist, after 5 months of chemo. It seems the control of the kappa light chain version of paraprotein fell to normal levels (remission) faster than ever seen before (cannot really quantify - but it fell fast).

I am now on minimal drugs for a month holiday from chemo, including a bone marrow sample, then we move to the accelerated trial (the stem cell rebuild of the immune system).

Apparently, there is a very rare activity of bone marrow cells producing white blood cells, which may complicate things. The bone marrow biopsy will give warning, but the trial people want to check how the marrow is working, after the chemo, and defend against the rare complication. That aside, I should be heading for a rebuilt immune system towards November some time.

Looking good so far.

Just to let you know I have a busy 3 week schedule in to and discharging from Hospital as I enter the stem cell mobilisation treatment before Christmas, then the stem cell transplant some time in the New Year (Jan and Feb).

I am heading for a 3 dayer in the Haematology Ward for a Central Line in my chest, to be warn for a few weeks. This will see the start of the stem cell mobilisation from the bone marrow to the blood stream. Just 3 days hospitalised then discharged late Saturday, and home GCSF injections to stimulate the stem cell development. Then a week in Nottingham City Hospital for stem cell harvesting.

I will be in and out of posting.

Well, I am back like a bad smell.

The Hickman line is in place, in a vein between the heart and lungs, and tunnelled under the skin. I need to be careful of heart and lung infections until the end of January (I think).

The first of the high dose Chemo, and lots of counteracting drips over Friday and Saturday. Then 2 days rest then th self administered GCSF injections over 2 weeks. Harvesting the stem cells (called mobilisation from the bone marrow to the blood stream) starts on Dec 17th and continues daily until Dec 21st.

They want to collect 440 million for the stem cell transplant to rebuild a new immune system during January, when I am in isolation for 3 weeks.

May I thank all good wishers, including - Angela, Chris,Rob, Julie and Zapped ...
