I was white as a sheet last May. I brought my iron level up with lots of vegetables and supplement. The Dr deemed, I didn't need a transfusion. So yours must be bad. Rooting a speedy recovery.

Thanks for your concern Vic. Thank goodness, I love spinach, lentils and brussel spouts. Yes yuck to most of you, but they brought me up to speed. The supplements were just for a booster.

Hey John, glad to hear things are moving in the right direction!

Anemia is something I know well. A few years ago I was diagnosed with severe anemia. I was prescribed IV iron infusions - many across many months, along with yucky oral iron. Worked like a charm and I'm good as new these days.

Wishing you a full recovery as well!

If John continues along this course we will have to address him as "Count John Dracula-Clark"...

Somewhere in the (un)known Universe?

Well, I now know the type of myeloma I have - kappa light chain multiple myeloma, or Bence Jones myeloma. This, it seems, occurs in about 20% of this problem.

The good thing is the light chain base line, before any chemo, has a measured figure of 6,959 (what ever that actually means). After this first month treatment, the kappa light chain factor has been dramatically reduced to 89 ... some reaction and the start of winning.

Now we just keep it down and squash it out of existence over time.

It also appears one of the reasons for my recent tiredness may be that I am anemic! Going in for a 3 unit/pint blood transfusion Monday. I would much prefer the transfusion to be a blended version of Landlord beer.

Now onwards and upwards.

Here is an update for you all upon John Clark's progress.

Mike from Germany was over in the UK a few days ago, and so we took the opportunity to pop up and see John for lunch. We were really pleased to see that he has progressed so well, bearing in mind how ill he was a short time ago. Both John and Sheila are very grateful for everyone's concern and good wishes, and thank you all very sincerely.

Here is John, Sheila, & Mike outside the Welby prior to having a few pints of Landlord. Although Mike to his credit did try it, he preferred the Fosters!





The meal was just as enjoyable as well.





After the pub lunch we went back to Johns house to meet the tribe of dogs. As John says, if you sit down in this house you get covered in Shih Tzu. Not easy to say after a few pints of Landlord.










It was really grand to see them both is such good spirits, and we all enjoyed the visit very much indeed. Keep it up John!
