Agreed Julie, but sadly there are some tortured souls out there. :-(

I am a tortured soul at times, but I could not conceive of making a toy out of one of my beloved kitties upon their departure from this life.

+1 Mark.

I think that the majority of us here all agree upon that. But as Uli pointed out earlier, we still have the animal rugs and trophys upon walls. I will never ever understand till the day that I die, why some sad people get some sort of perverted pleasure out of shooting and killing wild animals. If I had my way I'd arm all Game Wardens with Kalashnikovs and give them the legal right to fire back.

Well, I am not a hunter myself, but I can sort the differences between a sport such as deer hunting here in Wisconsin, where the animals are in great abundance and need the herds thinned, as opposed to some deep pocketed jackass that is out trying to hunt a nearly endangered species to death.

And keeping a trophy of a wild animal hunt, right or wrong, is not the same thing as making a toy out of what was once a beloved domestic pet. Which some of us have as much love for as many of our own species.

No animal rugs or animal trophys here, Oh there is one trophy, but it's just a family heirloom, that My Dad won, that's actual barbed wire from the Iron Curtain...

Come to Garden Grove, CA, it is a Vietnamese city and you will find no stray dogs or cats in Garden Grove. Anyone with more than three dogs in considered a rancher and that's no joke. Animal rights group took a Vietnamese family to court over the killing and eating of dogs and cats, animal rights lost. The CA court said there is no law against raising domestic animals for food.

I have no clue it the post is correct.

Me neither, but knowing some behind the OC curtain are a bit racist, it could be phony.

Oh my, Stinky Lou has been putting on a little weight lately, but she pales in comparison to Garfield! (Poor kitty probably will get diabetes though, if he doesn't already have the condition.)

Your welcome.

You can kill a kitty with kindness........
Mine have kibble in the bowl 24/7.
But they have had since their kittinessness.
So, I guess they don't have to feel they need to gorge.
They know it's always there.
They do get excited every day when fresh kibble and water is poured.

And I have one, Purrball, who is just a bit on the plump side.....but not nearly able to be termed as obese.

But she has been that way since a kitten. As the vet once said.....
'Little Purrball is not shy about stepping up to the plate...'
LOL.

An update to the bear I caught on video. It has been roaming the neighborhood, for the last few weeks, causing a lot of distruction. He was unafraid of people, and could not be scared off by gun shots in the air. It is a young male, and last night it was on my neighbors deck, tearing it up. The deck is right outside his bedroom, so he shot the bear. The police came out and gave our neighbor the proper tag. Our neighbor dressed the bear, and froze the meat.

Bye bear.....

Steve

Bear meat should be cooked just like raw Ham or pork, very thoroughly, why? For the same reason raw ham or pork is cooked thoroughly, trichinosis...

RIP Bear. Couldn't it have been moved into the wild somewhere?

Not happy :-((

I wonder what could have been done. It's tough when a bear is in a populated area and not afraid of people, that can become a problem.
(I wouldn't personally have shot him, but I'd bet the police would have eventually)

It is very difficult when a bear is no longer afraid of humans. When they move such bears around here, they need to be moved hundreds of miles away from humans. They will travel great distances for food. I wonder how far away from Steve's area you have to go to be hundreds of miles away from humans?

Aww, poor bear. Then again if it's not scared of people, let alone gunshots, it is I'd say a tad dangerous. (What's a proper tag?)
