From looking at previous posts on here, I was wondering:

It looks like 4.08 is the most recent Seti client. My systems are all using 4.02. One of these I actually just installed today.

How come the Boinc client is not updating the seti client? From the posts I've read it is supposed to, correct?

Could I just compile the seti client myself and place it in the proper directory, or will Boinc still use the other one?

Thanks for any advice

The current version for windows is 4.08. The current version for Linux is 4.02. Your windows machine is using version 4.08. This is all done automatically. When a new version comes out it will be downloaded. Workunits downloaded with previous versions will be processed with the previous version. Workunits downloaded with the new version will be processed with the new version.
