I know some of you guys head over to other forums during outages and what-not. I'm curious if anyone around here runs a seti@home related IRC channel...

So how does one who is not familiar with irc (me lol) go about hooking up to it?

So how does one who is not familiar with irc (me lol) go about hooking up to it? Download a free IRC client program. Take a quick glance through the help. Then enter the address of the irc server and #channel. You are connected. ____________

Not that the #setiathome is used.. In these two days I've been connected, there hasn't been a single person that joined the channel. :-D

Oh and there is a proper list of Boinc and Seti IRC channels here. I guess I'm blind when I look for info around here.

There's a channel on irc.starlink-irc.org as well. Yee-haw! IRC is still a good communication tool after all these years :D

So I've been visiting the different S@H IRC channels that people (like myself) have created that are on all sorts of different IRC Networks, however, is there any one specific channel that is an official channel for the project? There are channels that are team related and ones that are merely hang-out spots for S@H enthusiasts (the latter being were my channel's purpose falls into), but I still think it well deserved and warranted to have an official S@H IRC channel for the passing on of information when other access means have been severed.
