I'd like to put my old Mac PowerBook G4 out to pasture and use BOINC to eke out everything that Gumby, the computer's name, can muster in his final days. Frankly, like the Voyager spacecraft and the Energizer bunny, it may go on and on and..... Gumby is using OS X 10.3.9, the low-end cut-off point for use in some projects I have tried to use. Any ideas where I can use this computer, generate a "screen saver" and humbly help in the Search for Truth? Mac PowerBook G4, 12" CPU: PowerPC G4 (1.1) CPU speed: 1 GHz L2 Cache: 512 Kb Memory: 512 Mb Bus Speed: 133 MHz No laughing from the peanut gallery. Gumby may be old but he is robust as ever. The screensaver isn't necessary for Seti@home. If you can install BOINC and attach to Seti@home you should be fine. In a rich man's house there is no place to spit but his face. Diogenes Of Sinope |

Projects where my Panther/G4 systems are still able to contribute:
That’s about it AFAICT; Einstein@Home still supports the PowerPC, but as of recently their current app requires at least Tiger (v10.4.x). |
