I'm relatively new to the Boinc community, but I've been commiting 100% of my I7-860 and GTX 580 to WCG and SETI respectively. I really like to watch the numbers and have been trying to maximise the amount of work I can contribute. Being a nerdy numberwatcher, I really despair at the Pending Credit Page's non-fuctionality for my account. I have pages upon pages of work units I am proud to have submitted, but really can't go through them all to total my own pending credit- is there any chance something can be done? I can see another thread about this problem but was not able to post there or click "I have this problem too" or whatever exactly that button was called. On a related note, the page with said thread always says "Login" on the top right and returns me to my account page after login. Pasting the link to the thread back into the address bar gives me "Login" top right again- I had to manually browse via Community etc. in order to get to that thread while still being reported as logged in, to then find the "me too" button disabled and no replies possible XD http://setiweb.ssl.berkeley.edu/sah/forum_thread.php?id=53605&sort=7 Many thanks in advance :) |

I'm new around here myself. But it seems to me, "pending credit" never seems to have anything listed. You are getting your credits. you can just click on "view tasks" on your account page, and that will give you the details. There you will see "completed, waiting for validation", which I honestly believe should be listed as "pending credit" but it is not... #resist |

The Pending credit page is a remnant of when these boards used "Claimed credit" to show what your BOINC thought it would get for doing the work. However, the claimed credit thing is a thing of the past, since we're using CreditNew, a system where the server follows your computer and gives out credit based on the amount of elapsed time that tasks took. See CreditNew in the Wiki for more techno-babble info. The Pending credit page would show the amounts of claimed credit per task, giving you a glimmer of hope on what amount of credit you were going to get. But since the claimed credit was a calculation done based on the amount of time (CPU time) it had taken times the benchmarks, the claim was always off, as before CreditNew Seti used a FLOPs times multiplier based method to give out credit. (credits set by the server). |

Thanks very much for this info and the link to the wiki page. Sorry to say I still don't understand if the pending credit page is supposed to be fully removed or if it's supposed to show me some numbers. The list of work units completed has the information regarding how much CPU time was used for the task so I don't really see what else it needs to show numbers on my pending credit page. CreditNew should be usable to generate a pending credit summary by the sounds |

The pending credit page is database intensive. If they hare having database load problems, it is one of the first things to get turned off. At S@H, it has been off more than it has been on for this reason. Credit new changed the calculation of credit from something that is purely based on time and benchmarks as reported on the machine to a calculation based information that the server has received, and an average of how long each task takes.
